Give Thanks

"Come, let us sing for joy to the Lord;
let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation.
Let us come before him with thanksgiving
and extol him with music and song.
For the Lord is the great God,
the great King above all gods.
In his hand are the depths of the earth,
and the mountain peaks belong to him.
The sea is his, for he made it,
and his hands formed the dry land.
Come, let us bow down in worship,
let us kneel before the Lord our Maker;
for he is our God
and we are the people of his pasture,
the flock under his care."
~Psalm 95:1-7 (NIV)~

Thanksgiving is an excellent day to remember all of the blessings we have in our lives whether it's family, friends, a job, a roof over our heads, food in our bellies, etc.  There is one blessing, though, that many forget to include and that is our God's love and mercy.  No matter what the Thanksgiving holiday brings for you this year, I hope that you will take time to have some quiet time and thank God for all that He has given you and all that He WILL give you.

I know that the holidays can be an especially difficult time of year for people because it seems to be a constant reminder of what we LACK.  I am prayerfully writing this post in hopes that God will touch each and every one of you out there and will help remind you that even in the darkest of times, He is right there with you .... just reach out and let His light in.

Happy Thanksgiving to all of you.  Wishing you God's blessings not just on this holiday, but each and every day thereafter.

    1. Thanks Jan. I remember my worst Thanksgiving ever was two years ago when I was in Ohio all alone. I drove around looking at the different houses we had lived in and my grandparents had lived in and just sobbed....and then went to work. I wish I remembered then that God is the ultimate Comforter. Maybe some random person will read this blog post and be reminded so they won't be as miserable as I was then.
